As an Asphalt Work Planner / Field Supervisor, you will ensure that the asphalt crews are fully prepared before starting their work. You will literally work ahead of the asphalt teams and act as an important link between clients, project sites, asphalt crews and the company’s project office.
Using your knowledge of asphalt processing and road construction, you will visit and assess upcoming projects. You will survey the required asphalt work, measure and calculate quantities and identify technical and practical points requiring attention. Based on your findings, you will prepare a clear and practical work plan and project schedule.
You will inform clients in advance about the arrival and planning of the asphalt crew and discuss any preparatory activities that still need to be completed. You will assess whether the underlying road structure and base layer are suitable and ready for asphalt installation. If additional work is required, you will coordinate this with the client, contractors and your colleagues.
Where applicable, you will organise and supervise preparatory milling, sweeping and cleaning activities. You will monitor whether this work is completed according to schedule and meets the agreed quality requirements so that the asphalt crew can begin without unnecessary delays.
In addition to work preparation, you will act as a field supervisor for specialist small-scale asphalt repair and maintenance activities. These may include repairing milled areas using hot asphalt from a hotbox, filling and sealing cracks, carrying out work on expansion joints and repairing asphalt using infrared reheating methods.
You will monitor progress, quality, safety and project costs. You will also maintain accurate project records and regularly coordinate with clients, asphalt crews, suppliers, subcontractors and the company’s project office.
You will work closely with a Senior Asphalt Site Supervisor, an Asphalt Site Supervisor and an Asphalt Work Planner/Buyer. Together, you will ensure the professional preparation, execution and completion of asphalt projects.
This vacancy is suitable for an experienced Asphalt Work Planner, Asphalt Field Supervisor, Asphalt Site Supervisor or Road Construction Work Planner who enjoys working independently in the field and combines technical knowledge with organisation, communication and responsibility.
Your duties will include:

We ask that you:
Have an MBO-level vocational education and working ability;
Preferably hold a vocational qualification in Civil Engineering, Road and Water Engineering, Infrastructure or a comparable relevant field;
Have several years of relevant experience within civil engineering, asphalt construction, infrastructure or road construction;
Have demonstrable knowledge of asphalt, asphalt processing and asphalt maintenance;
Experience with specialist asphalt repairs, including hotbox work, crack sealing, expansion joints and infrared asphalt repair, is a strong advantage;
Have knowledge of relevant regulations and developments within the asphalt and road construction industry;
Understand surveying and measurements and are able to read technical drawings, specifications and project documentation;
Have knowledge and experience in work preparation, procurement and project administration;
Understand different Dutch construction contract forms, including RAW/UAV and UAV-GC;
Have knowledge of quality, health and safety and environmental management systems;
Hold a valid VCA-VOL Safety for Operational Supervisors certificate;
Have strong organisational and leadership skills;
Be able to work independently and function effectively within a project team;
Have a strong focus on quality, safety, planning and cost control;
Be proactive, accurate, solution-oriented and motivated;
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Hold a valid category B driving licence;
Preferably live in Limburg, Brabant or within reasonable travelling distance of the projects;

The organisation operates two specialised asphalt crews. One asphalt crew mainly works on small and medium-sized asphalt projects for municipalities and businesses. The second crew specialises in asphalt service, repair and maintenance activities.
Within this position, the focus is on preparing asphalt projects and organising and supervising specialist small-scale asphalt repair and maintenance activities. These include repairs using a hotbox, asphalt crack sealing, work on expansion joints and asphalt repairs using infrared reheating techniques.
In addition to asphalt construction, the organisation specialises in civil engineering service and maintenance work. The company provides a wide range of civil maintenance, repair and infrastructure services for several municipalities in Limburg and Brabant.
